Board Chairperson

Godwin Cudjoe is a Programme Specialist, a Lawyer and an Environment  & Forestry Specialist with more than fifteen (15) years of progressively responsible experience with the project cycle within international development cooperation, gained through increasing levels of responsibility across Inter-Governmental Organisation/United Nation, Government Institution/Public Sector and International Non-Governmental Organisations.

His expertise spans across forestry, natural resources management, environmental management, biodiversity conservation, climate change (adaptation and mitigation actions), rural development and agriculture, particularly the cocoa sector. By virtue of his professional experience, he has developed skills such as multi-stakeholder engagement, facilitation and coordination as his roles allow him to work with various stakeholders such as development partners/donors, government, private sector, civil society, and local communities.

Lawyer Cudjoe holds an MSc in Environmental Science, a BSc in Agricultural Engineering both from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana, a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, Accra, Ghana, and a Qualifying Certificate in Law from the Ghana School of Law, Accra, Ghana. He  also holds a Certificate in Tropical Forest Landscapes: Conservation, Restoration and Sustainable Use from the Yale School of Environment, New Haven, USA  and he is a Three Cairns Fellow.

Board Member

Frank Ankomah is an accomplished Forester and Natural Resources & Forest Governance Consultant with over 30 years of experience in forest ecosystem management, forest landscape restoration, and environmental policy analysis. His expertise spans legality compliance, timber supply chain auditing, and the design and implementation of forest governance frameworks in Ghana and across West Africa. He currently serves as Manager, Legal Timber Verification and Audit in Ghana, led the development of technical forestry systems in Liberia and currently providing technical backstopping to the review of the Liberia’s National Forestry Reform Law.

Throughout his career, Frank has undertaken high-level consultancy assignments, including serving as Lead Facilitator and Researcher for the EU-Ghana FLEGT-VPA Impact Monitoring initiative and as National Consultant under the African Development Bank-funded Strategic Plan for Agricultural and Rural Statistics (SPARS-Ghana). He has also supported UNDP funded policy reforms for Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) particularly in tree tenure and sustainable cocoa production.

Academically, Frank specialises in land-use and land-cover change dynamics, forest biometrics, and carbon stock assessment, and has authored peer-reviewed publications in these areas while serving as a reviewer for international journals. He holds a Ph.D. in Silviculture and Forest Management, an MSc in Environmental Science, an MBA in Finance, a Postgraduate Diploma in Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Management, and a BSc in Environment and Natural Resources Management. He also holds professional certifications in ISO 19011 auditing, FSC forest management, and project management from Soils Association, UK, NepCon Berlin, Germany and American Academy of Project Management respectively.

Rita Oforiwaa Mensah Braimah is an Agribusiness, Agricultural Development, and Occupational Health and Safety Specialist with more than twenty (20) years of progressively responsible experience in agricultural extension, agribusiness development, and farmer capacity building in Ghana. Her professional experience spans public-sector agricultural institutions and private agribusiness enterprises, where she has contributed to programmes that improve farmer livelihoods, strengthen agricultural value chains, and promote safe and sustainable farming systems.

Her expertise covers gender-responsive agricultural programming, occupational health and safety in agriculture, pesticide risk management and safe agrochemical use, integrated pest management, post-harvest management and food safety, and agribusiness value chain development. Through her professional roles, she has developed strong competencies in multi-stakeholder engagement, farmer training and advisory services, community mobilisation, and the coordination of agricultural development initiatives involving government institutions, private sector actors, development partners, and farming communities.

Rita currently serves as the Municipal Women in Agricultural Development Officer at the La Nkwantanang–Madina Municipal Assembly in Accra, Ghana, where she leads programmes that enhance women farmers’ productivity, safety, and livelihoods. She is also the Founder of Banyebore Ag-Business Consult, a professional agribusiness consultancy providing advisory and technical support across Ghana’s agricultural value chains and serves as Chief Executive Officer of Banyebore Farm & Supermarket, an integrated agribusiness enterprise engaged in crop production, livestock management, and agricultural retail operations.

She holds a Post-Graduate Certificate in Agribusiness Management from Fanshawe College, Canada, an MSc in International Management from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom, and a Higher National Diploma in Agricultural Engineering (Post-Harvest Technology) from Tamale Technical University, Ghana. She also has a certification in Ontario Grower Pesticide Safety (Canada).

Climate Change Lead

Dr. William Amponsah is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering, and the Scientific Coordinator at WASCAL Climate Change and Land Use Centre of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana. With extensive experience in teaching, research, and consultancy, Dr. Amponsah has worked on hydrology, climate change, climate-smart agriculture and environmental sustainability projects across Africa and Europe.

He has collaborated on multiple regional and international research initiatives, including projects funded by USAID, NASA, the World Bank, DANIDA, Novo Nordisk Foundation, Rainforest Alliance and GIZ. He is a prolific researcher, having published extensively in high-impact scientific journals, focusing on hydroclimatic extremes, water-energy-food nexus and climate adaptation strategies.

Dr. Amponsah holds a PhD in Environmental Hydrology from the University of Padova, Italy, two MSc degrees in Forestry and Environmental Sciences (University of Padova) and Forest Ecosystems, Nature, and Society (University of Copenhagen), and a BSc degree in Agricultural Engineering (KNUST).

Agriculture & Agribusiness Lead

Mark Kwame Offei is an Agribusiness Economist and Development Practitioner with over 14 years of experience specialising in the design of programmes that bridge the gap between applied economics and community-driven agricultural transformation. His career is defined by a commitment to strengthening rural economies through the development of robust agricultural value chains and the expansion of market and financial access for smallholder farmers. By building the commercial viability of Farmer-Based Organisations and cooperatives, Mark ensures that agricultural interventions lead to long-term economic resilience and inclusive growth.

During his tenure with the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), Mark led strategic policy and market development initiatives, including Ghana’s Seed Policy and High-Quality Cassava Flour Policy, with a strong focus on improving input systems, value addition, and agribusiness competitiveness. These efforts enhanced market efficiency and created scalable commercial opportunities for millions of smallholder farmers. He also managed results-driven agribusiness interventions, such as the biological control of the papaya mealybug, which minimised production risks, improved farm-level productivity, and safeguarded farm incomes. His work further includes scaling digital e-extension services to over 100,000 farmers to strengthen farm management decision-making, as well as supporting agrifood SMEs in optimising value chains and integrating nutrition into profitable and sustainable business models.

Mark holds an MPhil in Agribusiness and a BSc in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ghana, complemented by specialised training in agribusiness value chains, development project management, and applied economic research at the University of Queensland (Australia), the Maastricht University (Netherlands), and the University of Koblenz (Germany). His work is grounded in rigorous research, with peer-reviewed publications in value chain analysis, agricultural finance, and the economic viability of sustainable farming technologies.

Finance & Accounts Officer

Isaac Amoh-Armah is a Chartered Accountant and a member in good standing of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana. He is a senior Accountant at the Forestry Commission of Ghana and an Adjunct Lecturer at the Southshore University College, Accra, Ghana.

He has distinguished himself as an outstanding Accountant, Lecturer and an Auditor with expertise spanning across financial accounting, taxation, and auditing in Governmental and Non-Governmental Organisations. His professional experience blends technical accounting expertise with project-specific financial management of FAO, UNDP, DANIDA and Palladium Group projects.

He holds an MBA in Finance from University of Cape Coast, Cape Coast, Ghana, a BBA degree from University of Professional Studies, Accra, Ghana and he is currently a final year student of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, Ghana.

Elizabeth Ampong is a dedicated and highly organised administrator with experience cutting across public and private sectors. She has a strong background in administrative coordination, documentation management, and office operations. In her previous roles, she played an important role in ensuring organisational activities run smoothly and efficiently and supported leadership teams by maintaining accurate records, coordinating meetings, and facilitating clear communication among staff and stakeholders.

Committed to professionalism and continuous improvement, she helps create a structured and productive work environment that enables teams to focus on achieving their goals and she values teamwork, accountability, and service. She is passionate about contributing to organisational effectiveness and supporting initiatives that create meaningful impact.

She holds a BA in Publishing Studies and a Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management both from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana.
